I wouldn’t recommend Harlem Restaurant to anyone. I went to Harlem yesterday-October 22nd, 2011; I made reservations 2 weeks ago for 20 people to celebrate my birthday. When I called the manager informed me that there could only be one bill or two bills split between the tables. I find 1 bill for 20 people to be very annoying and can provide room for error.

I arrived at 7:20pm; 20mins after my reservations and they were nice enough to keep my tables, we were upstairs and seated right beside the stage. I decided to have a drink which was $9-too expensive for the size of my drink. I ordered a “Miles Davis” if you look on their website sounds like a great drink; however the bartender put too much overproof rum that it made the drink “undrinkable”.

As I mentioned my table were right beside the stage and the performer had a beautiful voice, but she was very loud and gave us all at the table a headache. The waitress got us all our drinks in a timely manner and appeared polite a

I went to 3 after parties at Harlem, and honestly it is a great place to go with friends. The prices of drinks are not over priced, which is great on the pocket. I never sat down and tasted their meals but I had their appetizers which tasted nice. The workers I talked to were really helpful with setting up my friend's dj equipment or just providing service in general. I would definitly go back to Harlem and I recommend that you should give it a try.

I love Harlem, it has felt warm and full of life each time I have been there.

After hearing about this restaurant, i decided to check it out myself, unfortunately its WAYYYY too small inside in the dining area, i was surprised. Still i made the mistake of deciding to have a birthday dinner there. on the day of my dinner i was called and told that I would be charged $25 extra for every invitee that didnt show up, i assumed they would charge me if people were late as well, the person in charge was very rude and unapologetic, stating harshly that they were running a business, so basically only they mattered, i had to cancel my reservation immediately as i was disgusted and move my party to another restaurant that was much more professional than this one. Bottom line is i would never recommend this restaurant, it doesnt live up to the hype.

THe food was o.k. Nothing to write home about. When leaving the waiter demanded that didn't tip enough. We left 15% (less 49 cents) on a $90+ bill. He claimed that we were a group of 6 therefore needed to ante-up. I should have asked for the entire tip back. I will NEVER go back.
